Wanted to share a bit of great news... I just got this today.

For some who know, and many who don't, I live with my mom and dad. Yeah, I know, I don't give a fuck about the jokes about a 50 year man, living in his parent's basement.

I rent.
I support my mom and dad also via means where I clean, I cook, I do a ton of stuff around the house, I take my mom to her kemo treatments. I have been helping to take care of my folks in their older age during retirement. I can't bring women into my house, it's their house, their rules. But I help because I want to help support them as much as I can while my mom is recovering from stage 4 colon cancer and my dad recently had a stroke a few months ago. It's not easy.

Regardless of those facts, my mom was to go in for her yearly checkup after the surgery and the aggressive kemo treatments she underwent. They also did a needle biopsy to check certain areas to make sure she didn't have any cancer, to check up on her. Well...

My mom is at this time cancer free. Again. Just typing that...I was able to take a HUGE breath and relax somewhat. Now...even though she is clear, they have reduced her kemo dosage to a lighter one and instead of every other week, she is now going once a month as a preventative dosage to make sure she STAYS cancer free. BUT....she's free of the cancer. SHE IS FREE OF THE CANCER!!! YAY! (does happy dance)

On another tiny bit of good news, I got my tax return back (yes I overpaid) and while it wasn't sizable, it will help to keep me afloat and the bills somewhat. I'm going try save as much as I can in order get enough get an apartment and now that my mom is doing better, I can focus on possibly getting a place closer my work instead of driving 40 miles one way work and 40 miles bac The distance is a killer on my vehicle. Hopefully I can find a place of my own within the next year as the goal is be back independent once again.

Look my last post, wasn't great. Today, things are BETTER. They are not great, but better, at least.

Nothing good comes easy. But things are a hell of a lot better, and now I can breathe a bit easier.

Who can you call on to save the day?

Why none other than...

This is wonderful news. Just wonderful.....i can feel it in your pleased you are. U are def more ways that one. I am also glad that you are there supporting your folks. Its a win/.win for thinks. It would be ideal to get a place in the middle of parents and work, so that you can get to both of them easily. Heres hopin that you do. Kudos....
Hope that chemo continues to kick cancers A$$ ~~

If I could I would love to get a place closer to work and be on my own, but I still want to be there for my mom and dad and help them out. But the traveling to work where even though it's 40 miles one way, the traffic, I'm driving 80 minutes to get to work with traffic. I have to be closer to work to make things easier, but that's going to have to take some time.

For me though, given this news of my mom doing better has really helped to raise my spirits and take a weight off of my shoulders. I hope the chemo will help her stay healthy.

Thanks again for stopping by jajo!

I know the feeling. Actually getting something back is much better than owing money to them. I'm glad I no longer have to deal with that myself. Thank you for stopping by!

I don't typically view men's blogs, but your title caught my attention. After reading it, I'll make two comments...FIRST, this is AWESOME news! Who doesn't love to hear a success story when it comes to battling illness!
Secondly, living with your parents is VERY common EVEN among people our age. Mine are passed, but I'd have loved to lived with them if I had the chance. It isn't about being dependent, but about supporting each other...and LOVE.
Good luck and hope your mom continues on her road to great health!!

Thank you so much JustLookn. I wish more people were more understanding of this, but many of the women here are not, and the responses I've gotten here for the most part are that the women don't even care to take the time to listen as to why I'm living with my folks to help them out. The responses were either of them laughing at me to shame me, or "You live with your parents? What's wrong with you?"

It's been difficult to deal with, and partly why I'm no longer searching anymore here on this site.

Never feel less a man because of your living situation. You are more man than most by being there, stepping up and looking after the ones who gave you life. Wonderful news.

whoisagentj replies on 2/26/2020 8:49 am:
Thank you so much for that. I've had women here actually tell me they couldn't meet up with me because of my current living situation and they made me feel terrible because I was living with my folks. Like I was less or that they thought I was lazy or didn't want to move out.
