The Rose by Bette Midler
The Rose by Bette Midler The Rose Bette Midler Some say love, it is a river And that it drowns the tender reed And some say love, it's like a razor And that it leaves your soul bleed Some say love, it is a hunger An endless aching need I say love, it is a flower And you, it's only seed It's the heart afraid of breaking That never learns dance It's the dream afraid of waking That never takes the chance It's the one who won't be taken Who cannot seem give And the soul, afraid of dyin' That never learns live When the night has been too lonely And the road has been too long And you think that love is only For the lucky and the strong Just remember, in the winter Far beneath the bitter snows Lies the seed, that with the sun's love In the spring, becomes the rose I want to take you into the fiery lair of steamy sexual delight on this hot sultry night. |

That song was popular at a very sad period of my life. It still brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it.

I just love this song, one time when I was at my old job, someone had asked my boss if anyone could sing The Rose one night at Karaoke, and she said yes my bartender sings it very well. So then she came up to me and said there had been a request for The Rose, so I got up and sang it, and after I was finished I had went back to our table, and this gentleman came up to me and said, I had a beautiful voice, and he thanked me and gave me a Ten Dollar bill for singing The Rose for him. I told him he was so welcome and tried to give the money back but he insisted telling me that all the places he had been no one had ever sang that song as beautifully as I did. I was completely over whelmed and blushing, and so very thankful and grateful that I was able to make someone so very happy..
