Yesterday while out and about....doing errands and basically just driving to get some air and get away from stale air and stale thoughts , I noticed that the new spring greenery was more green and full and vibrant and plush than in past years.

The roads were sans a bunch of vehicles, the skies appeared bluer and the people that i encountered were pleasant and patient. I went to get some supplies and immediately upon entering the store , an employee apologized that the debit card readers were not working. I listened to her tale of not wanting to be there all day with disgruntled people having to go n get cash. I understood completely , as people are out for essentials and this is now another step they have to do in order to get the essentials. She thanked me for not being upset and for listening.

I also went to a nursery to buy some flowers and the garden people , all wearing masks, as was I , we were all very kind thru our masks. I then went to get some ice coffee and came home sans essentials. BUT....it was all good. I ve had friends send me pics of California , where the fog/smog has lifted and the buildings are clearly seen amongst the background of beautiful blue skies.

I drove home and thought.....Maybe , just Maybe the whole Wide World just needed a.......Break!

.......akin to a collective exhale ....sigh....breather ...to rejuvenate itself and emerge from the clouds~~

oh yeah.....and i called the grocer this morn...and the computer / ATM/ debit is still down. Tomorrow IF i go....ill just bring cash. Problem solved ~~

.... the forced chill pill, I suspect, is causing a lot of people to reflect upon their priorities in life....

I'm sure we'll get back to our filthy, smoggy selves in no time. I was at Lowe's Saturday and way up at the front of the line 2 guys nearly got in a fight when one was moved from a cash only lane to a credit card lane or something, and the guy in our lane accused him of cutting in line. Nature may be rejuvenating itself but human stupidity is still going strong.

There certainly are other ways to look at things - and THAT'S one of them.
A positive outlook is always a happier path to follow. 👍❗😊
So... what type of plants didja buy? 🤔

I am sure I do not want to go back to what the masses are calling " normal" except for the social distancing I rather like things now

Yes....i would tend to agree. I think when people have the time and are not caught up in the hustle and bustles of life, they see things a bit differently. There is a saying : Change how you look at things, and the things you look at change ~
Thanks.....and I ll try as ive always been a glass half full kinda person.

That is my hope too....that we wont easily forget, that we tried to adapt , that we looked at the bigger picture of life, that we learned what we value most, that we took the time to ...exhale. That the air seemed cleaner , brighter and that some of those lessons need to be incorporated into our everyday lives going forward. Time will certainly tell, me thinks ~~

Thanks for your thoughts....

Ohhhhhhh c'mon Mc....have hope man. Hope springs eternal. Lol @ human stupidity...i know , i know....and thats something that cant be fixed. Ugh.

I will say though , on another venture to the grocery store....i was given the evil eye cuz i came down the up aisle. Geeze...they have like arrows and one way signs all over the store. It was very early morn and noone was hardly there and i was NOT walking down aisle 7 to walk UP aisle 6, just to get some garbage bags that were in the middle of aisle 6. Yet...i was busted !! Call me a rebel....lol

Thanks for your thoughts....

You re right....alot of automation/technology going on . The stores are actually encouraging the use of cards, as they can be wiped down with sanitizer, unlike cash. I had cash....but prolly not enuff....and i left it in the car and just went in to the store with my debit card in my pocket....not even a purse or a phone. I went back 2 days later and it was all good. Essentials have been bought ....lol

Yes......i always try try try and find a silver lining somewhere, that is what has kept me moving forward.

I bought four huge Gerbera Daisy pots for the front stairs and patio. Yellow, a pale pink , a white and a deeper pink. I water them as the instructions say, in the cool of the morning, so that they can soak up the water during the day.

As always, thanks for your thoughts ~~

I agree....things appear calmer, quieter less travelled and nicer. I think the flora and fauna are appreciative of this pause.

However, the places that have opened up and then celebrated the Mem Day holiday have already seen an " increase in the average number of cases, as compared to two weeks ago "

Nuff said....( sigh ). Thanks for your thoughts ~~

Yep....most places are encouraging cards....thats why the clerk was apprehensive cuz most people will come in with cards only and be upset when the machine didnt work. I went back 2 days later and all was good. My only disappointment was the already made chicken parm lacked seasoning. Other than that....smooth sailing. Thanks for your comment ~~

Yes...thats what the post was about...." the whole wide world just needing a break ...a pause...a breather ". I took notice and appreciated the change in scenery/attitudes. Thanks for your thoughts ~~

Hi jajo696

thanks for sharing this story

I've had some weird things happen to me during this covid 19 crisis:

not able to see my loved ones

not able to be with people, I'm a people person

even at work, I still have a job, but, have been working remotely since end of March, it wears on you

not able to eat out, although Texas is opening up

not able to work out

selecting take out at various local restaurants to keep them alive

missing my vices, concerts, movies, voluptous women, baseball (not necessarily in that order)

but, good things have come out of this

I have a neighborhood full of squirrels, rabbits, blue skies, clean air - amazing

I've put less than 200 miles on my car since March

I've filled up my gas tank once in over two months

paid $1.15 per gallon for gas

donated to the North Texas Food Bank, many people are going without

my recreation center opened up today, Yay!!! I was able to hit that elliptical machine for the first time in almost 3 months - almost felt like an orgasm

read 5 books

thankful for it all

hmm

The Zombies - "Time Of The Season" (Tommy Tronic 420 remix)

It's the time of the season
When love runs high
And this time, give it to me easy
And let me try with pleasured hands
To take you in the sun to (promised lands)
To show you every one
It's the time of the season for loving
What's your name?
Who's your daddy?
(He rich) Is he rich like me?
Has he taken, any time (any time)
(To show) to show you what you need to live
Tell it to me slowly (tell me what)
I really want to know
It's the time of the season for loving

Thanks Easy...u are right. As someone said, this " forced chill pill" has allowed us the time, space n place to see things in a different light....and appreciate that which we took for granted. Just simply hanging with friends or going to the grocery store without being mindful of the arrows on the floor for direction. WoW. Soon tho, i think we we have some semblance of normal...a new normal. I had a cute thought tho....for the ladies...the lipstick companies will go out of biz...and the lash companies will benefit from all this mask wearing....lol
