Aluminum Can Shortage

Aluminum Can Shortage Um.... Wait... What?!? It appears there is a new shortage on the horizon for Northern Michigan. Fantastic... Not only are we brawling over toilet paper, we can't with cash unless we have exact change, but we are now faced with a shortage of aluminum cans as a result of COVID related consumption and inability recycle during the shut down. Looks like it's glass bottled beer for from here on out... That is, until there's a shortage of glass, created by the aluminum can shortage.

lol....It definitely is ...always something. Ugh. Ya...i heard of the aluminum shortage as well. I know i have been just throwing away the seltzer cans....even the homeless that i would give to....they cant cash em in. Covid craziness in more ways than one ~~

I don't really understand it myself.... Like the coin shortage. What on earth did that have to do with COVID?? Yet, that's what we are blaming for the coin shortage. I looked it up to see if I could find a link between Trumps aluminum sanctions and the can shortage.....

there has been talk for months about a can shortage here in Canada

i can't recall which post we were discussing croutons on but the answer applies to this post as well. samms/ costcco is your friend! i am eating so many croutons that a bag at walmartt is only two servings at 2.00 a bag. it's getting to be pricy. so i saw the mammoth bag at samms and its not bad! SHERMAN usually gets a 2LTR of coke at walmartt. he got the samms packed 35 cans this weekend. i brought it into the house. oy. it was heavy!

I don't like cans anyways so I guess it wouldn't bother me except that it would mean the can people would be migrating to the bottles and that might mean a shortage there.

The Michigan governor stopped everything from March-June, including recycling. Unless it was an essential need, it got closed down. People were discouraged from all travel and the essential workers were given paperwork to carry with them on the way to work in case they were stopped. I had to carry this paperwork every day to go to work. Not every state had to deal with this type of lock down.

That's interesting because here, in the mid-Atlantic, more and more breweries are moving to cans... my local store's canned craft beer section has grown to be almost as large as the bottle section! Now I'm wondering if we're next to see a shortage.

 Secret  The whole toilet paper shortage makes me laugh, haven't people figured out yet COVID messes with your Lungs, not with their Bowels  As yet we haven't experienced a can shortage, although I have to admit that certain beers are in short supply, can shortage or increased consumption? I knew about this. I googled about Fresca and found it's only available in liter bottles because of the can shortage.
