The clotting risk is insignificant (unless you are the poor bastard that gets one!); you are probably at more risk crossing the street. I've had AZ and am waiting on the second dose. Frankly, I wouldn't have botheredfor myself since I'm fit and have a very good cardiovascular system (I played 90 minutes of flat out squash at 30 C the other night!), but I would want to risk passing an infection on to somebody who may be vulnerable, so I consider it to be my civic responsibility. Alles gute, as they say in these parts!

I'm scheduled for my second shot next Monday. First one was Pfizer, without any secondary effects besides a very local pain after a few hours. I have the same expectations for the second shot. If I woud be given the opportunity to choose the flavour of my second shot, whichever was my first shot, I rather go with the same as the first. If anyone is wondering, I can confirm it's just the covid vaccine, nothing extra (blue extra) from Pfizer LOL . I have not received any shots yet and I don't intend to. A good friend of mine has a pHD in pharmacology and does research for pharmaceutical companies. He is at relatively high risk for Covid and he told me that even though he is at high risk, after doing the research, which is his fulltime occupation, he decided against being vaccinated. He felt like the odds of a negative reaction to the vaccine were as high or higher than a negative reaction to virus exposure. Just one well informed opinion but that is the same direction I am headed.

Over here your second jab is the same as your first no choice, I have two Astra Zeneca jabs and only experienced a tender arm, I think all the hype about it was mainly nonsense from President Macron. xoxo

Around here two doses of Pfizer (2 weeks apart) was the standard and what I did. I would have been reluctant to mix the vaccines. You made the right decision, it is better getting two shots than waiting for the right version of the second shot. There is always a certain risk, regardless of the drug. I had two shots of Pfizer and had a lot of pain in my arm for at least two days. I had been told that this is ok, my immune system is reacting properly to the injection. But it takes two to three weeks to build a proper protection, so please stay careful and stay healthy

I had the J&J shot April 4th. One and done. No side effects at all. Good luck on your second shot. So nice to be insane; no one asks you to explain.

I'm scheduled for my second Moderna shot in a couple of weeks. As you can see from the chart AZ is very popular and I believe the chance of severe side effects due to blood clots is very low... 10 in a million, which is a much lower risk than either smoking or taking birth control pills. Have a great day Joy

i listen to the "great minds" say you can mix i listen to the "great minds" say you can not mix and then they say if you got astra first then take a mda you will get broader coverage and then they say no no don't mix covid vaccines... so after many sleepless nights and worrisome days i decided to become religious and take the vaccine they have on hand for my second shot but butt taking into consideration of the dilemma you face. after reading you for more than i year i sincerely and truly do feel that i should be your drug of choice there is a world of difference between insane and stupid

Hi Joy. I had the Moderna shot both of them with no problems. AstatreZenec is only in Canada as far as I know but I wouldn't mix them. Butch

I was lucky to be in a cohort for an early 1st jab Pfizer, luck is a moot point due to comorbidity issues, and then lucky to get offered the 2nd dose of Pfizer as soon as it was available to me. Very little reaction to either shot. Now 2+ weeks after 2nd shot, waiting for everything to open up, but will maintain vigilance. Variants are an issue. Good luck to all.

I got the Pfizer for both shots. It's what was offered both times I went to get it. I have heard of people getting both of their shots of the same type and getting an extra third booster of one of the others.

Hi Joy. I had AstraZeneca in March, and then 2 weeks ago I got the Pfizer shot. No reactions at all and I have never felt better. Good luck pretty lady!

I for one an sick and tired of these over paid cocksuckers on the news who all have already gotten their shots trying to throw doubt and misinformation about the vaccine shots . Day in and day out yammer yammer about so new found reason to come up with an excuse not to get the shot . Now mind you every one of those worthless sons a bitches has had their shots from golden boy down to his right hand retired fixer upper Sean Hannity and his tag along Tucker Carlson why just today he was on tv spilling his bullshit about what if this or what if that nonsense . And then to top all that off here comes along Eric Clapton with his whining and saying he feared he would never be able to play guitar again from the Z . Well hell man you are older than dirt and having done a honest days work your whole life . You bet your sweet ass that the Covid was just waiting to take you on the stair way to haven you pride yourself in helping record that song with the other bunch of worn out old hippies who only stole from the black artist from the 20's and 30's in the first damn place .. Now you my pretty friend just get what you can get and be done with it even if you feel bad for a day maybe two . Just think of what could have happened if there wasn't a vaccine ....

I would have chosen the same as well. Good luck!!

I already got both of mine. We don't mix and match here.

Both of my shots were the same. Moderna. I had no choice at all of what to get either time. A case of you take what you can get. The first shot I went through no complications or side affects, the second does took me out for a couple of days. Hope that helps? Have a good one my friend!

Don't even know if I had the option of mixing mine. I figure: "don't mix your alcohol. don' mix your drugs." (just messing around) I got the Pfizer shots and, as is normal, was down for a day or 2. Then I was off and running again. However, a few weeks later a realized I would be totally out of breath after getting out my car or climbing some stairs. That had me worried for a while, but I'm back to normal now, it seems. I even forgot that I was having that problem. Having lived as long as I have, I'm not even worried whether or not the vaccines are safe. Mybe if I was younger.

Here in the States, we have either Pfizer, Moderna, or Jannsen (Johnson & Johnson). The first two are a two-dose regimen, while the last is only one dose. Most peeps who were eligible when these became available chose to go with the Pfizer brand, as it offered the highest percentage in success, shortest wait time in between doses (21 days), and the one-dose wasn't available at the time. The J & J brand did have a hiccup not too long ago in some recipients, to where it was put a on temporary stop by authorities. During that time, you were offered to get one of the two-dose shots, or to wait it out until your pending one dose was given the go ahead. Some opted to change to a two-dose shot. I went with the Pfizer two-dose when I became eligible. Age wise, I would've had to wait until about April, but since I have health concerns that make me a higher risk, I was able to get it back in March. I had no symptoms with the first shot, but did have a slightly sore and itchy arm for a few days after the second shot. Nothing that a frozen bag of peas and a Benadryl couldn't take care of.
